United States Election 2024 heads into its final days before the November 5 voting. The focus is clearly on the swing states, the battleground states that have always been the deciders of the election outcome. Per the latest AtlasIntel poll, former President Trump is leading the predictions in all the swing states.
Around 49% of the respondents said that they would vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Poll data showed that the Republicans hold a 1.8% vote lead over their Democrat counterparts. This survey was conducted on the first two days of November and it included nearly 2500 respondents majority of whom were female voters.

An exclusive separate survey of swing states revealed that the Republican Nominee is favoured to win in all swing states i.e. Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump holds the widest margin with a ~52% to 45% lead over Harris in Arizona. In Nevada too, the voter’s response favoured Trump with ~52% over Harris’ ~46%. In North Carolina, Trump leads 50.4% of votes, while Harris gets ~47% of vote share.

Presidential Election in the United States is usually shaped by three types of states – Red States, Blue States and Swing States. Red States are those where Republicans have a stronghold and they have triumphed since 1980. The Blue states are the ones where Democrats have dominated since 1992. The Red and Blue ones are usually the predictable ones in terms of their electoral outcome.

The states that eventually are the deciders and are the centre of the battleground are the swing states. Swing states determine the course of the election outcome. Here the tug-of-war between Democrats and Republicans is extremely close.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll has shown a separate trend with Harris leading Trump by a single percentage point at 44% to 43%. Harris’ diminishing advantage over time despite leading poll results early on is a concern among several supporters of her, as the election day approaches. As the voters get ready to cast their decisive mandate, Swing states will play a key role in determining the outcome of the US Presidential Election 2024.
